How much is it? Cuanto costa?- I said.
6000 Lek (aprox. 60 US$)
How much?!!!- I repeated.

I really thought that 60 bucks for a watermelon and some fruit at the groceries was waaaay too much.

'600 Lek'(around 6US$)- said the fruit seller after few seconds.

Ahhh, finally we understood each other. Again, I forgot that Albanians, despite changing the number of zeros in their currency (the LEK) in the 60's, they still add one more zero to the prices, even the new generations do so!!!

We took the car and drove for 2 hours outside Lomé. Heading to the mountains and the waterfalls of Togo, in the region of Kpallime. Detox or how to make your life miserable

New Year, new experimenting...I am learning that detoxifying on a liquid-only diet might not be for me. This week I ate baby food for 36 hours and I craved the crunchiest thing you could imagine, from chips to a 'pain au raisins' from our local bakery. There are two camps, or multiple, but at least at my office women in camp 1 swear that drinking water only and doing internal cleansing with enemas (aaaargh) works wonders, and camp 2 believes is all fad.
